# Careers at Manicule — Teach the Machine to Write

Manicule is trying to solve a problem most people have given up on: getting AI to write well.

Everyone can get a model to produce words, but it feels so empty. Almost no one can get it to produce writing with a point of view, a logically sound structure, and a unique tone.

We want to solve these problems at scale. That means turning the judgment of strong writers into something repeatable that an AI can actually run on. Part of the work is engineering: prompts, evals, the harness around them. Part of it is editorial taste. Most of the work is experimentation, because nobody has the answers yet, and the frontier moves every few weeks.

The audience for writing is changing too. More and more, what we produce is read by agents as much as by people, and we're already catering to them.

We're small, we hire rarely, and people stay. If the idea of teaching a machine to write the way you'd want to read excites you more than it worries you, we should talk.

## Open Role: Founding Engineer

| Location | San Francisco |

| Salary | $120K – $200K |
| Equity | 0.50% – 1.00% |
| Experience | 3+ Years |

Manicule is building AgentRel: the systems that help companies become discoverable, cited, and recommended by AI agents.

Two problems drive the work. First, understanding how LLMs decide what content to retrieve, trust, and cite when they recommend companies. Second, using AI to create genuinely useful technical content without filling the internet with slop.

You'll work directly with customers, not close tickets from finished specs. We went from $0 to $30K MRR in two months, and you'd shape the product from here.

### What you'll do

- Build the systems behind documentation, technical content, and agent workflows.
- Research how LLMs retrieve information, choose sources, and cite brands.
- Turn editorial judgment into agent workflows, evals, and quality checks.
- Design how agents handle context across long-running jobs.
- Work directly with customers' founders, engineers, and DevRel teams.
- Own projects from the first customer conversation through production.

### Who we're looking for

- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Excellent TypeScript, and you're comfortable across the full product.
- Opinions on GEO and how LLMs discover and surface information.
- Strong views on what makes technical content useful and credible.
- You build with agents and think about context, retrieval, evaluation, and human review.
- You operate without detailed specs and want direct customer contact.

In your first 30 days, you'll build our context system: infrastructure that lets agents pull context from noisy, changing sources — Slack, Linear, GitHub, docs — and produce strong work on the first attempt. Prior context-management work is a bonus.

In-person in San Francisco; remote may be possible for the first month. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the office. Medical, dental, and vision. Unlimited GPT and Claude, including Fable.

Hiring is a first call, then a trial.

## Open Role: Technical Writer & Content Strategist

| | |
|--------|-------|
| Location | Singapore |
| Type | Full-Time |
| Salary | $50K – $100K |
| Equity | 0.30% – 0.50% |
| Experience | New Grads OK |
| Visa | US Visa Not Required |

We handle developer content for our customers end to end. We're looking for someone with developer-tools experience who is curious about GEO: why LLMs cite and recommend certain sources. There is no settled playbook yet, and you'd help write it.

This is not a job for mass-producing AI content. Nobody wants to read slop.

### What you'll do

- Own customer relationships from strategy through publishing and measurement.
- Build content and GEO strategies for developer-tool companies.
- Interview founders, engineers, and subject-matter experts.
- Write and edit documentation and long-form technical content.
- Track citations, traffic, signups, and pipeline.
- Improve our writing agents and quality checks.

### Who we're looking for

- Background in technical writing, content strategy, developer marketing, or DevRel.
- You understand developer audiences and have work to show.
- You grasp attribution beyond last-click analytics.
- You use AI deeply and experiment with your own agents and workflows.
- You're obsessive about accuracy, clarity, and detail.

In your first 30 days, you'll own one customer's content and GEO strategy end to end, write across two or three developer niches, and improve the writing agents — shipping strong work while making the system that produced it better.

Hiring is a quick call, then a short assignment.

## Open Role: Engineering Intern

| | |
|--------|-------|
| Location | San Francisco |
| Type | Internship |
| Salary | $100K – $150K |
| Skills | TypeScript |
| Experience | New Grads OK |
| Visa | US Citizen/Visa Only |

You won't spend three months on a fake intern project. Interns ship to production, and responsibility scales with output. Strong interns get a full-time offer.

The work sits on the same two problems as everything we do: figuring out how LLMs decide which content and brands to surface, and using AI to create genuinely useful technical content instead of slop.

### What you'll do

- Ship TypeScript features used by real customers.
- Improve how our agents gather context, draft content, and learn from human review.
- Turn editorial judgment into workflows and quality checks.
- Work directly with founders and customers.

### Who we're looking for

- You're already curious about this space: you've tested why ChatGPT cites one source over another, built agents, or worked on making model output less generic.
- No professional experience required — TypeScript knowledge and proof of curiosity are.
- Bonus: prior work on context management.

In your first 30 days, you'll help build an extremely durable and powerful context system — infrastructure that lets agents pull context from noisy, changing sources (Slack, Linear, GitHub, docs) and produce strong first drafts. You'd build, evaluate, and improve a production system.

In-person in San Francisco for up to three months; remote may be possible for the first month. Meals at the office. Unlimited GPT and Claude, including Fable.
